Emdeeha snapped this photograph of the van Weerden Poelmancantine Chaseekazerne in Breda, and it's like stepping into a moment frozen in time. What grabs me is the composition, the way Emdeeha plays with light and shadow, turning a simple scene into something much more. Look at how the light streams in, illuminating the wicker chairs. It's as if each chair has its own story. The textures captured here, from the smooth table tops to the rough brickwork, really add depth. It's a reminder that even the most ordinary places have their own character if we take the time to look. I'm reminded a little of Atget, a similar interest in documenting vernacular architecture, but with their own spin. Art is about seeing, and this photograph invites us to see the beauty in the everyday.
