This print "Exlibris P. N." was made by Oleksandr Aksinin, it's hard to say exactly when but he worked in this style in the 70s and 80s. The whole thing has this kind of delicate, sepia-toned feel, like an old photograph or a drawing found in a dusty book. Looking closely, you can see the texture of the paper and the way the ink sits on the surface. The lines are so fine and detailed, almost like a spiderweb. I am drawn to the bucket in the center, there is something almost comical in its expression. The overall effect is like peering into someone's dream or a secret world hidden within the pages of a book. It reminds me a little of Paul Klee, there is a similar sense of whimsy and a love of simple, childlike forms. Ultimately, Aksinin's print invites us to embrace ambiguity.
