Tadasky made this painting, C 136, using flat colours and simple, concentric lines to create an almost vibrating optical effect. It’s neat, tidy, almost impersonal, but very compelling. Have a look at how he has created this perfectly smooth surface, where the process is almost invisible. The lines are so clean and evenly spaced, that it seems almost machine-made. There's a calmness here, as the lines converge towards the center. Yet, there is also movement. Notice how the colors shift—blues to yellows to reds. Each of these colors have different weights and qualities. The effect is like staring into a hypnotic vortex. I see nods to artists like Bridget Riley here, playing with perception. It’s a reminder that art is as much about seeing as it is about thinking. It’s about opening up a space for different possibilities of perception.
