TAKI 183 is widely considered to be the pioneer of modern graffiti art. He was a young New Yorker who began tagging his name, "TAKI 183," across the city in the late 1960s. His simple black and white signature, often adorned with dripping paint, became a ubiquitous symbol of urban expression, inspiring countless others to follow in his footsteps.
