Leo Leuppi made this 'Composition with Guitar' with oil paint, arranging flat shapes of blue, red, brown and white. Imagine him in his studio, turning a guitar into pure form – the essence of a guitar. I love the push and pull of the colours, the bold geometry, and the way the composition hangs together. It's like a deconstructed puzzle. Those reds vibrate against the blues. I can almost feel Leuppi's hand moving, finding the right balance between the forms. There are echoes of Picasso and Braque in his work, but Leuppi makes it his own thing. Painting is a conversation across time, right? We borrow, steal, and transform. Each artist leaves their mark, their own kind of beautiful mess, adding to the ongoing story. It doesn't matter what it looks like, it matters what you make it mean.
