This "Untitled" painting was made by Aboudia who was born in 1983. It’s a wild mix of collage, paint and crayon – almost like street art, but on canvas. I imagine Aboudia attacking this surface, layering images and marks with such energy. The green and blue lines loop and dart, creating these cartoonish figures, or maybe they're masks, floating over faces torn from magazines. There is so much raw energy in these scribbled lines, like a kid going wild with crayons, but with this deep, underlying urgency. You know, it makes you think about Basquiat, or even Cy Twombly. There’s this connection, this conversation, between artists across time. It’s about mark-making, about building something from scratch, and letting the process guide you. Each layer informs the next, building a surface that’s chaotic, yes, but also brimming with life.
