Endre Rozsda made My Grandmother's Lorgnette with oil on canvas, and it’s just bursting with these watery blues and pinks. Looking at it, I can just imagine Rozsda in the studio, layering these abstract shapes, almost like peering into a kaleidoscope. I sympathize with the artist; building up all those layers must have been a real journey of trial and error, right? Maybe he started with a basic structure and then just let the paint guide him, one color leading to the next. I see so many little details, lines, and textures. What does it all mean? Maybe Rozsda was thinking about memory, about how we see the past through a glass, distorted yet beautiful. You know, it reminds me a bit of some of Kandinsky’s more playful compositions, but with its own unique, quirky voice. It feels like Rozsda is inviting us into a visual conversation. I love that!
