Sol LeWitt’s Structure with Three Towers is like a minimalist city made of open frameworks, each square a potential room. It’s almost architectural, thinking about how we build up, how we stack and arrange, not just physical structures but also ideas. LeWitt’s material choices are pretty straightforward, but the effect is complex. The stark, almost sterile white emphasizes the geometry and the relationships between the cubes. It’s not about hiding the process, but about making it super clear: here are the parts, see how they fit together. The open cubes invite the space around them to become part of the sculpture. Look at how the light filters through, creating shadows and highlighting the edges. Each little tower plays with positive and negative space, solid and void, and you realize it's as much about what's there as what isn't. LeWitt’s work reminds me a bit of Agnes Martin, in its quiet, almost meditative repetition, but it’s got this structural, modular thing going on that’s all its own. It's like he's saying, here’s a language, now what can you build with it?
