This is Très Parisien, 1926, No. 2, p. 1: La Mode en Général, a print in the Rijksmuseum made by G-P. Joumard. The light washes of color and delicate line work suggest a real love of process here. It’s almost as if the artist is thinking out loud. I find myself drawn to the figure on the left and the way the artist plays with flatness and depth. The dress has this bold, graphic quality, with its stark black and white panels and a playful, almost abstract, floral embellishment. It's fascinating how the artist uses these simple shapes and lines to create a sense of form and movement. You know, looking at this piece, I'm reminded of the work of Erté. There's something about the elegance, the stylization, and the focus on fashion that feels like a nod to that Art Deco sensibility. It’s all about the conversation between artists across time.
