Curator: Well, look at this—it’s an untitled piece by Stephen Buckley. Four squares dancing on the canvas, wouldn't you say? Editor: My first thought? How starkly simple it is, almost like a Bauhaus exercise. But the colours prevent it from being cold. Curator: Exactly! There's a real playfulness here. See how the overlapping sections create new shades? It feels almost… musical. Editor: I'm intrigued by the lack of context. Without a title, it feels deliberately detached from social narratives, almost resisting easy interpretation. Curator: Perhaps. Or maybe Buckley's inviting us to bring our own associations. Red, yellow, blue, black - what do they mean to *you*? Editor: That’s generous of you to say! But without grounding, it risks perpetuating a kind of apolitical art world. Curator: I guess I see that tension as part of the work's strength. Editor: It’s certainly a thought-provoking piece; it lingers. Curator: Yes, it does. Like a memory, or a half-formed dream.
