Here we have Euroster, made of euro notes in a star shape. It was conceived by the European Central Bank, no date given. It's so interesting to see the tools of bureaucracy taking on this kind of graphic design twist, presenting themselves as a Pop shape. What could be more declarative than a star filled with money? I wonder what it would feel like to run your hands along the surface of the piece, to feel the paper money, the smooth surface of the star. It strikes me as oddly vulnerable - it's just money sitting there, exposed. Do you get a feeling of the sublime, or the ridiculous? Or something in between? It makes me think of how Andy Warhol took commercial images and played around with them, turning them into art. Art can be found in surprising places! There's plenty of room here for interpretation, and that's a good thing.
