This photograph of the Sala de las Camas in the Alhambra, Granada, was taken by C Maufsaise, using a monochrome palette that really brings out the texture. Look at how the light catches on the intricate geometric patterns, the columns, and even the small fountain in the center. It’s almost like Maufsaise is painting with light, carefully building up depth and form. The details, the play of light and shadow, invite you to look closer and closer, to get lost in the complexity of the ornamentation. I’m particularly drawn to the repeating pattern of the tiles, how they create a sense of rhythm. It reminds me of Agnes Martin’s grids, but with an ornate twist. This photo isn't just a record, it’s a conversation with form, history, and the very act of seeing. Just like how art is an ongoing conversation across time.
