This image of the Sala de Dos Hermanas in the Alhambra, Granada, by C Maufsaise, it's like stepping into a dream of intricate patterns and light. I imagine Maufsaise, setting up their camera, trying to capture the essence of this space, the weight of history, and the delicate beauty of the architecture. Look at the way the light filters through the arches, creating these soft shadows that dance across the walls. It’s almost like the building itself is breathing, alive with stories and secrets. The geometric patterns, they're so mesmerizing. Each tiny shape seems to fit perfectly together, creating this sense of harmony and balance. You can almost feel the hands of the artisans who crafted these details, their dedication and skill evident in every line. I'm thinking of artists like Escher, who also were totally obsessed by pattern. Maufsaise is also doing something like that, but using light. It makes me want to reach out and touch the surface, to feel the texture and depth of the carvings. It's a conversation across time.
