Yamada Dōan (1550-1599) was a Japanese painter who specialized in the ink-and-wash style known as suibokuga. His works, which often depicted animals and landscapes, are characterized by their powerful lines and expressive brushwork. Dōan's paintings, including his famous depiction of a dragon, are known for their dramatic and dynamic compositions.
