Editor: Here we have Jacques Callot's etching, *Assumption.* It's teeming with figures ascending to the heavens, so intricate at such a small scale. What do you make of this swirling scene? Curator: It’s like Callot has packed the whole drama of faith into this tiny frame, isn't it? The Virgin ascending, a crowd of witnesses, angels galore... I find it interesting how he uses light and shadow to create that sense of upward movement. Makes you wonder about the human desire to reach for something beyond, right? Editor: Definitely. It feels like he’s trying to capture something both intimate and universal. I am curious about what Callot was thinking when he made it! Curator: Callot was known for capturing all manner of lively scenes. And just think, someone felt the need to create and someone else the need to buy it. Art is really quite magical, isn't it?
