This cabinet, part of a larger set designed by E.G.C. Schubad, shows us the beauty that can be found in simple forms and materials. There's a directness, an honesty in how it's made, a real love of process. The wood grain is left exposed, giving the surface a tactile quality, almost as if inviting you to run your hand across it. I'm drawn to the way the light catches the edges, highlighting the sharp angles and clean lines. There's a window on the front of the door, a tiny rectangle of glass, offering a small peek inside. It’s like a little secret, an invitation to look closer. For me, the directness of this piece is really interesting, its like a conversation with Shaker design. In a world where things are often over-designed and over-complicated, this cabinet offers a refreshing reminder of the beauty of simplicity and function.
