This "Radio van Philips" was made by Philips, N.V. though we don't know when. I think of process when I look at it, and this piece has been meticulously put together. I love the way the wood grain swirls, like a watercolor effect. It reminds me of a painting, where you can see each layer, but here it's the natural texture of the wood. There is also a soft, tactile quality, and the overall tone feels warm and inviting. It's like a piece of furniture and technology, both practical and beautiful. The attention to detail, from the perfectly curved edges to the precisely placed dials, suggests the artist cared deeply about their craft. It makes me think of the Bauhaus movement, where they also combined art, craft, and technology in simple, elegant ways. It's a reminder that art can be found in the most unexpected places.
