This is Joan Miró’s "Le Bijou", and it’s giving me life with it’s playfully naive spirit! The approach to mark making is direct, like a kid with crayons, so confident, so immediate! The piece has these amazing, almost floating shapes, like a red sausage and a fuzzy blue puffball, all dancing on the surface. Check out how the yellow circle is contained by a definitive black line. It’s so bold, like a primary color explosion right in front of you! You can almost feel Miró's hand moving across the page, making marks that feel both spontaneous and intentional. It makes the art feel more approachable, right? Miró reminds me a bit of Kandinsky. Both unlock a kind of childlike wonder through abstraction. And like all great art, it's open to whatever *you* bring to it.
