Roberta Elvis made this Posset Pot, and its date is unknown, using what looks like watercolour. The colours are really grounded, earthy, and, like, they whisper rather than shout, right? The textures are smooth, with a sort of quiet insistence on form. The vertical brushstrokes draw your eye upward, emphasizing the pot's shape and the direction of the handle, making the piece feel almost... alive? Look at how the light catches the side of the pot. See those little grey areas? It's almost like the pot itself is reflecting the light, or maybe it's just the way the paint hits the paper. It makes you think about what else the pot might reflect, like, what stories it could tell if it could talk. Elvis’s work reminds me a little of Giorgio Morandi, but with a warmer palette, I think art is like a conversation across time, and it’s just, like, so fun to listen in.
