王新福 made this painting titled 兰草顶天 with what looks like expressive brushstrokes and a really vibrant, earthy palette. It’s all about the process, I reckon, seeing how each stroke builds up, creating this wild, overgrown scene. Up close, the paint is thick, so thick, you can almost feel it, right? Like a relief map of a hidden world. The greens and yellows are swirled together with dashes of white and brown, kinda fighting it out on the surface. I love the way the light catches those ridges. There’s a particular stroke, near the bottom right, where green meets white – it’s like a quick, confident slash, full of energy. 王新福’s work reminds me a bit of Van Gogh, especially his later landscapes. Both artists share that love for texture and the way paint can become something more than just color on a surface, but really it's Wang's unique expression that captures my imagination.
