This untitled print was made by Louis Bunce, and it's got this gnarly combination of blue and green that really grabs you. I can almost feel Bunce working away, right? Layering that bold blue over the muted green, scraping and scratching to reveal these hidden shapes. What’s so rad about this piece is that it's like he’s got some kind of language going on. I can see that there are these weird, figurative shapes in there and they’re almost totemic. It reminds me of other painterly printmakers, you know, folks who push the medium. It makes me think about the legacy of abstract expressionism and how artists are still finding new ways to communicate. It’s like we're all talking to each other, across time, through these works.
