Curator: This is an untitled print by Gordon House. House, born in 1932, was an abstract artist who explored color and geometric forms in his work. What's your initial take on this? Editor: It feels like a playful face-off, doesn't it? Those zig-zag shapes—one blue, one green—almost butting heads over that gridded, red field. Curator: The grid is interesting. It creates a sense of order, but the textures within each square add this chaotic energy. The zig-zags remind me of pathways. Editor: Pathways, yes, or perhaps even electrical currents meeting. Blue for coolness, green for growth—a visual dialogue about contrasting forces. Curator: And the lack of a definitive title makes it feel like an invitation, doesn't it? To project our own narrative onto these shapes and colors. Editor: It's a little puzzle then, a little poem. The simple shapes belie the complexity in the arrangement. It's quite compelling. Curator: I think so, too. A testament to how much can be said with such minimal forms.
