About this artwork

Editor: Here we have an intriguing photograph by Harry Annas, simply titled "Untitled (view of house from back)." It's a silver gelatin print, only about 4x5 inches, but I find it incredibly unsettling. What do you see in this piece? Curator: Well, it's ghostly, isn't it? This negative image almost renders the familiar alien. The mundane becomes mysterious. I wonder, is it about the hidden lives within these ordinary spaces, the secrets a home silently holds? Does it make you feel like you’re eavesdropping? Editor: Yes, exactly! Like a forgotten memory, or a place on the edge of a dream. I hadn't thought of it that way. Curator: Perhaps Annas is inviting us to look beyond the surface, to consider the stories embedded in the everyday. Food for thought, eh?
