Samuel Buri made this "Châlet psychédélique" using, what looks like, spray paint and stencils – a technique that feels both precise and intuitive. The colours are bold, almost clashing, but somehow they create this vibrating, psychedelic space. Look at how the colours are layered: the red grid over the camouflage-like greens and yellows, all against that metallic silver background. It's a push and pull between structure and chaos. The texture isn’t smooth, there are imperfections in the spray, drips and splatters, which is really interesting. These little marks reveal the process, the artist's hand, even though it's done with a spray can. It feels like the whole piece is a conversation about control and letting go. This reminds me a bit of some of Sigmar Polke’s work, with his playful use of materials and embrace of chance. Both artists show us that art doesn't always need to be serious; it can be playful, experimental, and a little bit wild.
