Jeremy Moon made this, No. 5, likely with paint, and perhaps tape, to get those hard edges. It’s so process-oriented; you can almost feel Moon figuring it out as he goes. Look at the surface! It’s so flat and even, almost like fabric. The colours aren’t fighting each other, but they aren’t exactly holding hands, either. The light peach and the green there… they kind of vibrate against the brown like a quiet hum. And those edges! They’re so clean, so precise, yet there’s a slight wobble if you look close, a reminder that a person made this, not a machine. That blue line, slightly off kilter, feels like a breath of fresh air in the composition. It reminds me a little bit of Agnes Martin’s grids, but with a bit more… funk. It’s like Moon is saying, “Yeah, geometry, but let’s have some fun with it, ok?” Art is never really done in isolation. We are all just riffing off of each other.
