Jessica Price made this watercolor ring bottle; it’s a shape that just keeps giving, right? The thing that grabs me here is how the artist took what could be a straightforward object and turned it into something so alive. Look at the color—it’s not just brown, it's got this whole earthy palette going on, with hints of green and yellow that make it feel like it's breathing, like it's been sitting out in the sun and rain for years. And the texture! See how the brushstrokes aren't trying to hide? It's like Price is saying, "Yeah, I made this, and here's how." There's this beautiful imperfection to it, especially in the way the light catches on those little ridges and bumps. It reminds me of some of Marsden Hartley’s paintings, where you feel the weight of every mark, the artist's hand right there on the surface. It’s about the process, the journey of making, as much as the object itself. That's what makes art so endlessly fascinating.
