This Galloping Horse weather vane, made by Chris Makrenos, is a real study in form, frozen in mid-air. There's something so energetic about the way it seems to defy gravity, nose forward, tail back, caught in the wind. Looking closer, the metal has this beautiful, aged patina, almost like a painting, telling tales of weather and time. I love how you can see the marks, the imperfections, like the little scratch, that bring life to the piece. It reminds me of a Calder mobile, that same sense of balance and movement. I think art is always a conversation, artists responding to each other across time, playing with shapes and ideas. It’s about embracing the unexpected, finding beauty in the ordinary, and letting the work take on a life of its own.
