Alfred Freddy Krupa made this arresting image using contrasting blocks of colour which feel immediate, like a screen print. The bold choices and flat application reminds me of Warhol, but maybe with an injection of punkish energy, a raw and unfiltered snapshot of the self. I'm drawn to how the interplay of light and shadow carves out the figure’s form, especially in the upper left quadrant, where the blues and yellows really pop. Look how the solid blocks of colour create the feeling of a moody, intimate space. "In My Room (II)" feels like a conversation across time, echoing Pop Art's fascination with reproduction and the self while forging its own path. It's a testament to the ongoing dialogue that is art, where past and present collide, inviting us to see, feel, and think in new ways.
