This untitled work is by Konrad Lueg and looks like it’s made by repeatedly dabbing a brush onto the canvas. The colours are vibrant, a mix of blues, greens, pinks, and oranges, but they’re also softened by a layer of gray dots. I can imagine Lueg standing here, methodically applying each dot, maybe lost in thought. The physical act of painting, the repetitive motion, it becomes a form of meditation. The paint isn’t too thick or thin. Each dot stands alone, but together they make a pattern. What I really enjoy about this work is that, even though it's abstract, it feels intentional. Each gesture seems like a response to the one before it. It reminds me of other painters who embraced this kind of process, where the act of painting itself is the subject. In art, we’re all having a conversation, building upon what others have done before. There is a constant exchange of ideas. This painting embodies ambiguity, inviting us to find our own meaning within its colourful dots.
