This sculpture by Fred Eversley, made with cast resin, shows us that art can come from anywhere, even industrial materials! I find it fascinating how Eversley takes this manufactured material and transforms it into something so visually intriguing, almost magical. The clear green resin encases a solid orange rectangle, creating a mesmerizing interplay of color and form. It makes me think about how we often separate art from everyday life, when really, they're so intertwined. The surface is smooth and polished, inviting you to reach out and touch it, but it's the way the light plays through the resin that really captivates me. It reminds me a little of the light works of Dan Flavin, but there's something unique in the way Eversley uses resin to create this sense of depth and luminosity. It really makes you consider how an artist's choice of material has the power to completely change the way we understand a work.
