Curator: Frantic is a good word. I think it's more than just a haphazard application of medium though; there’s a controlled chaos. See how the washes of watercolor, in seemingly random shades, build up to create depth and pull your eye across the image? Then, wham, that frenetic line work that almost feels like graffiti grounds you in a world that feels oddly representational; perhaps something dreamlike or primordial. Are there figures or ghosts here? Are those allusions to a paradise now lost? It hints, but doesn’t tell. It feels unresolved in the best way possible. Editor: Yes! I noticed how certain shapes emerge—a bird, faces—but they're never fully realized. It makes it hard to pin down what exactly Kazar is trying to communicate, almost as if he wants us to fill in the blanks. Curator: Exactly. That invitation into the incompleteness becomes part of the statement. It leaves this artwork hovering between raw emotion and reasoned expression. I find I keep coming back to find those ghosts and listen to what they’re saying to me from some previous life! What have *you* been able to decode from all this lovely mixed up ephemera?
