Idris Khan made "The Creation," an image that, at first glance, looks like simple stripes, but it's so much more than that. It's like looking at a minimalist landscape, but one that’s built from layers and layers of tiny marks. The thing that grabs me is the texture. Up close, you see these incredibly dense, almost woven lines of gray and white. They’re not perfect, they waver and blur, and that's what makes it feel so alive. The layering creates this depth, like you could get lost in it, and the physicality of the medium is so present. It reminds me of the meditative repetition you find in Agnes Martin's grids, but with a rawer, more tangible quality. It's a quiet piece, but it speaks volumes about the beauty of process and the endless possibilities within simple forms. It's about embracing ambiguity, letting the image breathe and evolve.
