Fusun Onur made this piece called "Dance of the Crows" with thread on fabric. I love the way she fearlessly embroiders this whole scene. It's like she's writing, but with stitches. There's a playful looseness in how Onur lets the thread wander. The texture of the fabric peeks through, adding this sense of incompleteness, like a sketch in progress. Notice the crows themselves. Some are solid black, others outlined, almost like ghosts. Each stitch feels deliberate, and yet the overall effect is delightfully free. It reminds me of Paul Klee, actually, that same whimsical quality. Onur reminds us that art doesn't always need to be perfect or polished. Sometimes, it's the raw, imperfect gestures that speak the loudest. It’s a dance of thread, of crows, of imagination.
