Curatorial notes

This photograph of two women in a canoe on Clevia was made at some point in the past, but we don’t know by whom. There's a dreaminess to the sepia tones that almost erases the details, turning the whole scene into a hazy memory. It’s all about light and shadow here, like a watercolor painting where the artist has let the colors bleed into each other. Look closely at the way the water reflects the light. It's not about clarity; it's about capturing a mood, a sense of place. This reminds me a little bit of Gerhard Richter’s blurry photographs. Both artists embrace the imperfection, the way memory distorts reality. They remind us that seeing isn't just about what's in front of us; it's about how we feel, what we remember, and how we piece it all together. The beauty is in the ambiguity, in the way the photograph invites us to fill in the blanks with our own stories.
