Felice Casorati painted 'Vendemmiatrici,' or 'Grape Harvesters' in Italian, with what looks like tempera paint. What a cool, strange scene! Look at that color palette. I imagine him layering those blues and purples, building up the vineyard like a dreamy backdrop. Those figures are so striking—those bright blues! He really committed to that hue, didn't he? You know, making a painting is a bit like harvesting grapes. Each brushstroke, each layer, is a gathering of something, pulling it all together to create this new thing. I wonder if Casorati was thinking about that connection. The physical work and creative expression. Painters like Casorati are still in conversation with us. Through time, these works evolve and transform our ways of seeing. It’s kind of like how grapes become wine, changing form, and fermenting new ideas.
