Koloman Moser made this poster for the XIII Secession, and you know, looking at it now, it still feels incredibly fresh. The palette is so restrained, just that muted terracotta, deep blue, and touches of white, giving it a graphic punch that still resonates today. I love the way Moser balances flat, decorative elements with a sense of depth, look how those stylized figures emerge from the geometric patterns and blocky lettering, but are also subsumed by it. The faces are doll-like, their expressions minimal, almost like they're part of the overall design rather than portraits of individuals. I really get the push and pull between figuration and abstraction that you find in Klimt. And that circle, a halo or a void, it binds them together but also isolates each figure within its own space. It's a design that embraces both clarity and mystery. What a poster!
