Paul Klee made this artwork called Child and Aunt with oil transfer and watercolor on paper. Just look at that orange! It’s like a hazy memory—warm, soft, and a little dreamy. I can imagine Klee moving the colors around, letting them bleed into each other. It's as if he's trying to catch a feeling more than draw a perfect picture of these figures. I love how he uses simple lines and shapes to hint at a child and an aunt, it’s playful but precise, too. It’s not about perfect representation, but about creating a relationship. A single line makes an arm or an eye. I can almost feel the texture of the paper. Klee's always been a huge inspiration for me. His work reminds me that painting is about feeling and thinking. I'm so grateful to be in conversation with him.
