This little card shows the interior of a house in Norway, and it was made by someone called Atelier KK. I think that the artist's perspective, the way they've decided to frame it, is what gets me. It's like they wanted to capture not just the objects but the quiet stillness of the space. What was it like to work in the darkroom? And how can we imagine what it was like to live here? Look at how the objects cast long shadows and how the grain of the wood creates interesting textures. It is full of such beautiful little details and strange lighting. The act of photography itself is also like painting— you shift and move around the subject, trying to make something pop, or make something else recede. This little photograph feels somehow both old and new, familiar and foreign. It's like art is one big conversation.
