Carsten Höller made these Giant Triple Mushrooms, and the making of these sculptures feels like a strange kind of alchemy. The textures, the color palette, it all feels hyper-real, like a child’s drawing come to life in three-dimensional form. I find myself drawn to the largest mushroom, the way the ridges on its cap mimic the grid of the ceiling above. It's as if the mushroom is in conversation with the architecture, a playful dialogue between nature and artifice. These aren’t just mushrooms; they’re oversized, uncanny versions of themselves. It makes me think of Claes Oldenburg, another artist who took everyday objects and blew them up to monumental scale. Both artists invite us to see the world anew, to question our assumptions about scale, perspective, and the very nature of reality. Art isn't about answers, it's about opening up a space of possibility, a realm of endless exploration.
