Curatorial notes

Cricorps made this abstract view with paint on canvas, and it’s a great example of how artmaking is a process of discovery. Look at the surface – all those jewel-like colors popping out! The paint isn’t trying to hide itself, it’s there in these separate, defined shapes, thick enough to almost feel the edges. There’s a real sense of physicality, like you could reach out and touch each little section. Notice the way the black lines divide the colors, creating a mosaic effect. There's this one spot, a swirl of orange and yellow on the left, it’s like a little sun, drawing you in. The whole painting feels like a garden, or maybe even a stained-glass window, with light shining through all the different parts. This piece reminds me a bit of Hilma af Klint, with its almost mystical feel. It embraces ambiguity and celebrates the many ways we can see the world.
