Editor: So, this is Barry Flanagan’s "The Wren's Nest," a sketch from the Tate collection. It's got this very casual, almost unfinished feel. What strikes you about it? Curator: It feels like a peek into Flanagan's mind, doesn’t it? These are ordinary objects, yet the simple lines elevate them. Does it remind you a bit of a child's drawing? Editor: I see what you mean. There is a sort of directness to it, like a child's drawing. Curator: Exactly. Perhaps he's inviting us to find beauty in the mundane, to see the poetry in a rake or a coat hanging on a hook. What do you think? Editor: I guess I never thought of garden tools as beautiful before, but I can see that, yes. Curator: It's all about perspective. Editor: Definitely changed mine!
