Tess Jaray made "Cupola Green" with paint, and it’s all about how simple shapes can mess with your head. The colors are pretty straightforward – blues, greens, and yellows – but the way she uses them to create these geometric patterns is where the magic happens. It’s like she's playing with perspective, turning the flat surface into something that feels like it's stretching into space, or maybe collapsing in on itself. Take a look at that turquoise line cutting across the top; it pulls you in, right? It makes you wonder about the space beyond the painting, what else is out there in this weird, geometric world she’s created. Jaray's work reminds me a bit of Bridget Riley, another artist who loves to play with perception. But while Riley goes for those dizzying optical illusions, Jaray keeps things a little more grounded. It's as if she's saying, "Hey, let's explore the possibilities, but let's not lose our way completely."
