The figure's situation is further underscored by the raw state of the medium—charcoal, in its most elemental form—as an index of labor. Curator: A fitting summary. It offers a glimpse into humanity’s struggles through carefully placed marks. Editor: Yes, it's interesting to contemplate not only the intention of the image but also the act and agency of production behind it.
