Curatorial notes

Editor: Here we have Jack Gould's "Untitled (children riding on toy train)," a small, vibrant snapshot held by the Harvard Art Museums. The children look like they’re on an adventure! What do you make of this sweet little scene? Curator: It's funny, isn't it? How something so small can contain so much joy, or even melancholy, depending on your mood. I wonder if Gould was thinking about fleeting moments. Like a memory that’s vivid but just out of reach. Editor: Fleeting moments... I hadn't considered that. Thanks! Curator: It’s just a thought, dear. Art's like a train ride, isn't it? Everyone sees something different out the window.
