Robert Sammelin made this ‘Creepshow T-shirt Design’ sometime in the 20th century, presumably with digital painting tools. It's not a medium I'm totally comfortable with, but what strikes me is the energy it has. The way the colors pop, especially that vibrant red, it’s like a scream on fabric. Looking closely, you can see how Sammelin layers blues and purples to create depth in the figures, especially that central, terrified character. The highlights are sharp, almost like light reflecting off wet skin, or maybe it's the sweat of fear. The way the blacks are used is interesting – they're not just background, they’re active participants, shaping the space around the figures, making it feel claustrophobic, like the walls are closing in. It reminds me a little of early comic art, or maybe even some of those old horror movie posters. But Sammelin brings a contemporary sensibility to it, a certain graphic punch that feels very now. Art's always a conversation, right? We're all just riffing off each other, trying to make something new out of something old, and having fun along the way.
