Biography
William Worthington (1775-1839) was a furniture maker and designer active in the late 18th and early 19th centuries. He was known for his elegant and refined designs, often incorporating elements of the Neoclassical style. Worthington's work featured delicate carvings, fluted legs, and a focus on symmetry and proportion. His chairs, such as the one pictured, are considered to be fine examples of the English furniture making tradition of the period.
