Biography
Wenzel Kraendl was a German Renaissance medalist, whose work is most notable for its exquisite detail and masterful use of the silver medium. Kraendl's work often portrays historical figures such as kings and emperors, and frequently featured detailed coats of arms and symbolic imagery. His medallions, such as the "Medal of King Sigismund" (1486) and the "Medal of King Ladislaus" (1484), are exceptional examples of this. His work reflects the rich artistic culture of the late 15th century, demonstrating the talent and precision of the period.
