Biography
Wendel Dietterlin was a German architect, painter, and engraver who was active in the late 16th century. Born in Pfullendorf in 1551, he is best known for his architectural treatise, *Architectura*, which was published in 1598. The work is filled with intricate designs and detailed illustrations of columns, moldings, and other architectural elements, reflecting the late Renaissance style and the German Mannerist period. Dietterlin’s work was an important resource for architects and designers of the time and provides insight into the artistic sensibilities of the late 16th century.
