Biography
Edward Burne-Jones (1833-1898) was a prominent English Pre-Raphaelite painter and designer. His works are characterized by their dreamlike quality, evocative symbolism, and rich, painterly surfaces, often depicting scenes from mythology, literature, and biblical stories. His paintings, like "The Mirror of Venus," "The Golden Stairs," and "The Beguiling of Merlin" are notable for their elongated figures, decorative details, and use of muted, jewel-toned colors. Burne-Jones’ influence can be seen in the Arts and Crafts movement, as well as in the decorative arts of the late 19th century.
