Biography
Simon Petrus Conrad was a silversmith working in the late 18th century. Though his exact birth and death locations are unknown, he was active between 1771 and 1793. This silver ewer (a type of pitcher) demonstrates his talent for crafting elegant and functional objects. The ewer's graceful silhouette, with its bulbous body and slender neck, is emphasized by the smooth, polished surface and the delicate, applied bands. Its sleek design reflects the popularity of Neoclassical styles in the late 18th century, and its ornate handle adds a touch of sophistication.
